“This focus of evil in the modern world”

by Walter Olson on September 14, 2006

If the Forces of Disapproval ever tire of beating up on Wal-Mart, they’ll need a new business to blame for the world’s not being everything it ought. George Will thinks Coca-Cola might fill the bill (”Liberalism as Condescension”, syndicated/RealClearPolitics, Sept. 14).

Always fear the person who claims to know how to spend your money and manage your life better than you do.

A conservative is generous with his own money (Gates, Buffett), while the liberal is generous with others money (Kennedy, Clinton).

Cafe Hayek just posted a link to a Milton Friedman video from the 60s(?) that mirrors nevins’ point. After the annoying flute music at the beginning, Friedman is mesmerizing with his straight-forward approach to things.

People would be entirely too bored if there wasn’t someone to dislike and call Evil.

So, is this an implicit admission that conservatives are the “Voices of Approval”?

As a liberal, I disapprove a priori.

Nope, it’s an assertion that grown people don’t need approval.

“please give a bullshit alert when you link us to Fox News things.”

As opposd to Reuters (”terrorist” is still always in quotes, among other ridiculous and dishonest things, such as photo-shopped and staged pictures), CNN (maintaining access to Saddam by COVERING for him), CBS (RatherGate), etc.

I don’t claim that Fox is perfect, but if you want a “bullshit” detector for them, what do you want for those OTHER stations? You know, the ones that have lied to your face about issus of national security, among other things…
