Miers nomination

Roger Parloff thinks history will look back on it as a turning point in the history of the GWB presidency, if not the Court (Jan. 8).

The bigger problem wasn’t that Miers was a complete unknown – it’s that she did have just enough of a public record to reveal her as no conservative. If Bush trusted her, either his judgment was totally off, or he wasn’t committed to the same principles conservatives are.
