Sadly the Columbian Coffee Growers Federation may be severely lacking in something here, a sense of humor, intellect, or perhaps they are just fishing for free publicity. This cartoon was but one of a series that started with the “for real” premise of the inventor of the Pringles can having some of his ashes buried in a Pringles can. The CCGF are the ones that advertised there is a little bit of Juan Valdez in every can, Mike just took it to its logical conclusion.

Makes me glad that I prefer Sumatra beans over the more plebeian Columbian ones.

Nope, I like the new theme. The “Overlawyered” title needs some jazzing up. It’d look better as a quality logo rather than the too-simple large sized generic font.

New look with the aid of Thesis??

I vote “thumbs DOWN!!!” What used to all fit (side-to-side) on my monitor is now 30% wider than before, and looks worse to boot (all the same color like a newspaper except for the links).

Change it or go back to the old format, PLEASE!!!

The plaintiff’s bar must be drunk on the idea of so many injured people with a perceived common thread…”how can we lump them together and lay blame on big-corporate deep pockets?” The suits will go on for decades, the “victims” will reap peanuts, the defendants will vacation in the Caymans, the lawyers will retire wealthy…and this will be called just.

We joke, and yes, the image of an insane person brandishing sharp implements when she cannot identify cavities, ulcers, and “only” failed 7 courses is kind of humours, like a Monty Python skit.

But you know, all humor aside, it must be heartbreaking for the dentists involved.

Imagine devoting your life to dentistry. Imagine all the hours and years of study, training and practice. Imagine all the pain and suffering you alleviated by helping people (before modern dentistry, having a toothache could be life-altering).

And how are these dentists treated?

We confiscate years of their salary. Based on what? On allegations by an obviously delusional individual, one whom a rational person would not trust to be a housekeeper much less a dentist.

Does anyone share my sadness and my horror about this situation? I have never read of a lawsuit whose facts were so clearcut, whose defendants so honorable, and whose outcome so vicious.
