Batman costume will not enable you to fly.
Well, duh. Batman could not fly. That was Superman.
I still wonder whether Krugman would have won had his nomination and work been submitted entirely anonymously or under a pseudonym. The Nobel committee voters sure do love Bush bashers and anyone promoting a liberal cause.
As I understand it, there are 2 conditions to receive a Nobel:
1) worthy achievement in the field
2) not obviously conservative (with the occasional exception if one’s contribution in 1 is just ridiculously good)
That is, outspoken liberalism is not really that big a deal compared to the general population, but outspoken conservatism is a huge negative.
So, yes, I think Krugman would still have gotten it. A better question would be, would he have gotten it if his political commentary was on the other end of the epctrum (raving reality-challenged righty instead of raving reality-challenged lefty)?
