Thanks for a great synopsis of the current situation we are in. It was definitely an awesome grass-roots movement. We have accomplished so much and yet still have so far to go. Getting ready for round two!

Let us just hope that within the next year this can be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. According to everything that I have read, the law can't just be deleted....it can only be modified. So let the modification begin.

Doesn't sound like this really changes anything if state attorney general's can enforce this law. Who is going to want to run afoul of this? Could not RI AG (for instance) parse out the enforcement to his buddies ala RIAA?

While I am very happy to hear of a "stay" or some "modifications" to CPSIA, I feel that we may just be cutting off the crusts of a very large CRAP sandwich.
The CPSC, not unlike a scene out of the movie "Minority Report", has in the past labeled products that have never hurt a child as "possible of causing harm". To give, basically a group chaired by many from the JPMA, the ability to aggressively go after what they "think" may be a problem, will be a problem. It all sounds like a huge competition leveling move by the wrong people. Fine or jail those who were found to be using lead, and save America a few hundred million dollars. More government regulation of any kind is not what we need. Common sense tactics is what is needed and getting "some" things changed looks like a classic "bait and switch" move.
