CPSIA and (regular) bicycles

by Walter Olson on March 29, 2009

Ordinary kids’ bicycles, as opposed to the motorized kind, haven’t gotten much attention in the CPSIA outcry. But they’re in trouble too. Not to mention that BMX bikes *for adults* are classified as children’s bikes because of their tire size…

I know for a fact that Walmart and Target are still selling kids’ bikes and helmets. I was just at both within the past couple days. Does this mean they’re going to get fined up the wazoo? Only if they get caught. Will they get caught? Only if the attorney general steps into one of those stores, I would assume?
