Wisconsin: “A 78-year-old Monroe woman who was banned from a city-owned senior center in Monroe after complaining about how a card game was being scored filed a federal lawsuit against the facility, alleging the center violated her free speech rights and that its code of conduct is vague and overly broad.” [State Journal]

It sounds like Ms. Milestone and her lawyer should have paid better attention to that old adage that says “Don’t make a federal case out of such a trivial thing”
I always wonder about suits like this (or for that matter, to get re-hired to a former position). Clearly your presence is not wanted; is there some fantasy that a lawsuit is going to change that? That a lawsuit is going to bring happiness? Maybe the judgment could also require that everyone pretend to be happy to see her, be nice, and let her win a hand every now and again.
Good luck with all that.
Which is more fun, bingo or torts?
Which is potentially more remunerative?
Elder homes are riding the wave….
