Sadly an all too common occurrence by public officials.

So the plaintiff’s attorney quips ‘truth is not always a defense.’
That is about as close as one can get to admitting that the content of the web site is conceded to be true.

It seems to me that anyone so uninformed about the First Amendment is unqualified to be police chief, let alone an officer at all. Officers need to understand, for example, that a person is within his rights to, for example, photograph events on a public street, even if another person on that street does not wish to be photographed.

Please feel free to correct me if I’ve erred above — I’m an advice columnist, not a lawyer.
