A Queens, N.Y. man has sued Starwood Hotels and American Express, saying that at an Amex-recommended hotel in Sardinia he and his sons were held hostage by hotel staffers, sometimes at gunpoint, and forced to spend upwards of a hundred thousand dollars on hotel, jewelry, boutique and nightclub charges. Interestingly two of Mr. Maryasin’s thirteen previous lawsuits were against two different Japanese restaurants; apparently he has quite a yen for Japanese food.
Wasn’t there someone a few years ago who ran up a $100,000 tab on his Amex at a strip club and claimed he’d been ripped off? Some people just seem immune to humiliation.
