"switching to clip-on ties because of the potential strangulation risks"

Yes, I can image it: boys on a field trip to a dairy farm, one boy trips, gets his necktie hooked on a barbed wire fence, and strangles because nobody figures out that lifting him will relieve the pressure, and, of course, nobody in England can carry a knife and cut the tie.

Seems like these schools need to talk to John Stossel. Exactly how many people have been accidentally strangled by neckties?

Modern Britain - a land where people are frightened by neckties, where it's thought too risky to let children possess sunscreen, where they're scared of blue skies and the sun, and where the police are required to run away from danger. You could laugh at it if the rest of the West weren't trending the same way.

It's no wonder that the enemies of the West - the Islamic jihadists, the North Koreans, the nuclear-seeking Iranians, and all the others - are so confident of eventually prevailing. How could they not be confident when their enemy is so timid that its people fear neckties and sunny skies?
