Is the bag authentic? So, maybe the defendant goes back to Gucci and finds someone (a couple of someones) who will attest to authenticity or unauthenticity? Get a Nolo book on defense, file a couple of motions, the whole thing goes away.
Submit the bag as evidence to the court. Have a Gucci employee testify to the authenticity of the bag. End of case.
