“It’s part of the vernacular of being a lawyer.”
When Shakespeare wrote “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers” I don’t think it was part of the vernacular of being a playwright; he probably meant ‘let’s kill all the lawyers’. And with good reason too apparently.
