L.A. city council: no convenience for you

Paternalism under the palms [Future of Capitalism]:

The Los Angeles City Council, having already established “a moratorium on new openings of fast-food restaurants” within a 32-square-mile area of South Los Angeles, is now preparing a crackdown on convenience stores that “would prohibit such small neighborhood markets from being closer than one-half mile from one another unless they sold fresh fruit and vegetables,” reports the Los Angeles Times. • The fast food stores were demonstrated to be predominantly in NON-minority areas of LA.

This is just limousine liberal crushing of the underclass anyway, since this very same hyper-corrupt Los Angeles City Council refuses to allow any Big Box Walmarts or Targets in the poorer areas, with the huge variety of low cost groceries these stores would bring.

Truly the Soft Racism of these clueless hypocrites and totalitarians.

  • They’re not clueless. They’re deliberately keeping them on the plantation.

  • Just put one apple and two potatoes on the shelf (fruit is singular, vegetables is plural) along with a $50.00 price tag for each.

  • I see a business opportunity for someone with a small van who can build some small display racks to hold a minimum selection of fruit and vegis with a long shelf life, who comes around weekly to stock.
