At the University of Florida female students in the entering class now outnumber male by 3 to 2, and a spokesman matter-of-factly explains: “Girls are being admitted because they are doing the things to be admitted and boys aren’t.” Coyote accepts the statement as rational, but tries to imagine how it would have been received if all the facts were the same but the genders were reversed.

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails
That’s what little boys are made of !
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice and all things nice
That’s what little girls are made of!

There’re some great comments at the Coyote link…

There is a solution. Just make participating in sports required by all non-STEM students. Maybe women will be more likely to engage in sports, or take STEM courses to avoid the sports.

Unless we actually want to allow college students to choose what activities and fields of study they wish to participate in.

Sexes… or races. “The reason black students aren’t admitted at proportional rates is because they just aren’t studying hard enough.” Brace for firestorm.
