by Walter Olson on April 5, 2010

“Slo-pitch player sues field owner after being struck by ball” reads the headline of the Globe and Mail’s story from Hamilton, Ontario. A judge is allowing the suit to go forward, noting “that diamond officials had talked about putting up sun screens at the field.”

Gosh, sunlight at a baseball game. How weird.

I think the conclusion is that baseball should only be played in the dark.

He also alleged the company failed to inspect the diamond or “warn [Mr. Black] of the dangers of the sun at the particular time of day.”

They let the lawsuit proceed after this charge was made? Unbelievable!

Except that where the sun is at 3:30 pm on April 5 is different from where it is at 3:30 pm on April 24th. It’s that dang orbit…
