  • This post caught my eye and I tried to google some supporting documentation. I didn’t get any hits from local news organizations, bar publications etc. The facts dont line up for me. It appears the trial was in the Summer 2009, is there an on going appeal? Did the NRA file an amicus brief? The original post mentions the NRA helped pay for the original defense. I get no hits on their website for Brian – which seems strange as this would be a poster case for their efforts. Also, there is no mention of the prosecution here – did she request suppression of the exculpatory language? Based on only the information I have I am questionaing the validity of the case as presented.

  • I have to agree that there must be something more to this case that is missing. The readily available reports are skewed from defendant’s point of view.

While a friend who is an avid gun enthusiast decries NJ’s gun laws as too restrictive, he transports his firearms in his car very often, with confidence that he and his firearms are safe from seizure. We discussed this report after I first read it, as he was preparing to transport a semi-auto shotgun, rifle and two hand-guns intrastate to go fire off a few.
