Anecdotal but…before my mom was placed in a nursing home, ALOT of money (Medicare) could have been saved by having someone medicalish visit her every other day for a hour or so. A hypocondriac and regular visitor to various doctors and the ER.
Sitting hours in the waiting room did not deter her because there were plenty of people there to talk to.
