The $500 million demand tripped the judge’s laugh test, but I sympathize somewhat with the inmate’s demand for dental floss. The only tooth I lost to decay was 50% thanks to Army Basic Training, where morning tooth-brushing was strongly discouraged (it interfered with barracks inspection).
