  • Are most State Departments of Labor so captured by the unions?

  • This dovetails in nicely with Coyote’s post on June 23 – “Government, arrogant ignorance and the power of incentives”. Combine nonsensical rules (e.g. the peppers example) with the blind belief that the govt is right and noble and you get that money quote of “I think the best thing to do is stay small and not hire anybody.”

  • A lot of progressives would consider this to be a feature, not a bug, of the regulatory state. It cuts down on the number of evil corporations and encourages producers to think and act locally.
