The Florida myth

It’s one of the most durable stories to come out of the 2000 election: the supposed disfranchisement of black voters in Florida. It’s now a staple of Democratic fund-raising and speeches, despite the virtually complete lack of evidence that any Floridians were intentionally denied their right to vote.
