Should we put a search box in the upper right corner? Are trackbacks still of use to anyone? Is there some way to clean up the tangle of old archives resulting from our 2003 and 2005 switches to different archiving systems? Our fonts are optimized for Firefox; how can we make them look equally good in IE? Here’s the place to post any advice or observations on the site’s layout, design, graphics and internal structure — please save critiques of content for some other occasion.

I am still a big fan of trackbacks.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes on the search box. An emphatic yes on the trackbacks. The archive system seems a big bungled, but I can’t think what would be an appropriate fix.
I would love for there to be a search box.
The search box is lower down on the right side. Works for me. If you add it to the pink area, I think it will detract from the open look of the top section. You could put it just above the Blogads…
The only difference between the fonts is that IE shows the article titles in a bigger font than Mozilla. The rest seems similar.
You just need a catchy logo.. How about Liberty with just her head poking out of a pile of money. It would also tie in to the ‘Planet of the Apes’, which seems appropriate đŸ˜‰
I’d like to see a hyperlink to the category archives beneath each post. E.g., “$1 Billion Legal Fee Eyed in Enron Suit” is filed in the “Class Actions” category. But it’s not obvious from the footer of the post that there is even such a category. It’s fun to click on the footer of a post and be transported to similarly-categorized posts.
I think your logo should be the classic blindfolded lady justice, but standing in front of a brick wall with a cigarette in her mouth
Just so you know, the page is quite readable in Opera browser as well. Great site. Thank you.
Just to clarify on trackbacks: we like the concept as much as anyone, but for reasons that are not clear, the number of incoming trackbacks to Overlawyered that register as intended has fallen to almost zero. Most “internal” trackbacks (from one of our posts to another) still do come through, and so do most trackbacks from Point of Law. However, nearly four weeks have gone by since any other sites have successfully laid a trackback on us. This is not (as Technorati will confirm) because other sites have stopped regularly linking to our posts. Nor is it that our anti-spam program is blocking a lot of legit trackbacks (though it does do that sometimes). Could it be that most site owners that once enabled outgoing trackback have disabled that function? If so, why?
