It seems those Jim (“The Hammer”) Shapiro TV ads (Feb. 6, Mar. 7, Apr. 9), in which the ethically-challenged former Rochester attorney rants in manic style as explosions and other violent footage roll in the background, have inspired parodies on YouTube. The one above, featuring “Jack (The Hammer) Shapiro”, is from Canada-based DevoImprov; a second parody of a more homemade texture can be found here.
Spoof of “The Hammer” TV ads

I was a defense lawyer in upstate New York a few years back, and we used to laugh at Shapiro’s advertisements. I remember one pre-trial conference where Shapiro’s ads came up (we were shooting the breeze before getting down to business). The trial judge made fun of the commercials, and observed that Shapiro always settles his cases before trial (“he’s never set one foot in MY courtroom”).
Just goes to show the difference between media portrayals and the courtroom reality.
