A good move, but a pardon would have been better.
Can he continue with his appeal even though his sentence has been commuted?
Now that’s a modern railroad. No social value here just more fees for attorneys and more injustice for those oppressed by the law.

I believe he can. If he had been pardoned, he probably could not.
