I sympathize with the family not wanting to lose their pet chickens, but, therapy chickens? Come on! Where do you draw the line. Ooops! I have to run. My therapy Cobra just got loose.
If you want chickens, move to the country. I guess these people didn’t want to do that. They aren’t even willing to move the coop away from the lot line.
While I sometimes sympathize with the therapy dodge to get around *unreasonable* pet bans, these people sound like passive-aggressive jerks. Why do they need a coop weighing 1500 pounds for just a couple of pet chickens? The town could give them 30 days to move the coop; otherwise the town would come in on day 31 to destroy and remove it, and add the bill to their next year’s property tax.

If someone can have a therapy kangaroo, why not chickens?
