I can’t even imagine the difficulties of making such a decision — one way or the other– in the immediate wake of such a tragedy.
I can imagine many millions of reasons, all protected by an NDA, why the family would make such an announcement.
I’m both impressed and saddened. These parents would win a suit and it wouldn’t be a remotely frivolous one. May they get past all this and find some solace.
