SCOTUS tromped on that misconception with both hobnailed boots today. But the idea won’t go away – viz. people still argue Heller almost a decade later. Maybe the unanimity on the critical issues in Matal v Tam will help.
It’s simply free speech from people that hate. Hate is not limited to a particular ideaology. Liberals hate, conservatives hate, in fact most people hate something. In fact, hate may be in the eye of the beholder, after all the speaker usually just considers it speech… Go SCOTUS!
