Re President Trump vs. Business: Is the President threatening to unleash the IRS on said executives [probably criminal], or simply to favor other businesses that do follow his wishes [politics as usual]. IIRC there was something called “Operation Chokepoint” in the not to distant past…
I feel for the BATF agent. I’d guess he booked the trip a year in advance and the trial dates were set only recently. There is no way he’d be able to get someplace to stay on short notice under the path of totality. Most hotels were booked solid a long time ago.
If those things are true, it sounds like they weren’t included in the moving papers. Maybe the AUSA was a little cocky, and didn’t think he needed them.
