We posted last month about Mike Chase’s new book “How to Become a Federal Criminal: An Illustrated Handbook for the Aspiring Offender” (Atria Books). For a deeper dive, check out Shoshana Weissmann’s lengthy running thread with many more highlights from the book. And of course since A Crime a Day is itself a Twitter-based project, you should be sure to follow it while there (see also).

I’m a bit disappointed to see items like no checks less than a dollar when the quoted section makes clear it only applies to notes intended to circulate. If some of the book is repeating 110 year old bad journalism (https://books.google.com/books?id=7hlLAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA590&lpg=PA590&dq=check+less+than+a+dollar+circulate&source=bl&ots=K6jKiwEDr9&sig=ACfU3U2azuIW6dhfZlNb6WQyNhqKT6J5Ig&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiBzMf8wIvkAhV4JDQIHR3qAlcQ6AEwEHoECAkQAQ#v=onepage&q&f=false) how can I trust the other parts?
