  • If lawyers are going to get together and celebrate working for free, why wouldn’t you cheer that? TLC was an amazing display of teamwork. Those lawyers did millions of dollars worth of challenging legal work for free. How about you thank them? Jerk.

  • Fascinatingly, the only thing I did was to recount a quote from the New York Law Journal without commentary. This makes me a “jerk.” I’m not sure why: I certainly never took a position on the question whether the entire point of September 11 was to give the plaintiffs’ bar something to celebrate and congratulate themselves over. I suppose it’s conceivable that one could infer from the accurate recounting of the quote that such behavior suggested insensitive solipsism, but I certainly never said that…
